What are We Thankful For This Year?

It is truly hard to believe that this year is almost over and we are officially in the thick of the holiday season. As we prepare for Thanksgiving, we reflect upon the things that we are most grateful and thankful for. First and foremost, we give great thanks for our indispensable team. Without this "A-Team" (as they are so affectionately referred to) we would not be able to serve our customers to the best of our ability. Our team truly makes this happen, day in and day out. Their dedication to this organization does not go unnoticed. We are thankful for the opportunity to be a part of and participate in both the WPA and NWPCA. We are thankful for our customers who have supported our organization for so many years, helping us grow and constantly improve. We want to wish everyone a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving holiday and thank you for your support. Enjoy a time filled with family and friends. Blessings to all!

Pallet Central Magazine Features One of Team VP's Own

I can't tell you how truly honored I am to have the opportunity to have been featured in the NWPCA's latest cover story in their Pallet Central publication. Being a part of the "12 Women Who Move Pallets" article is certainly a tribute to the women who are making such a great impact in our industry. I've had the opportunity to get to know many of these women over the years and consider them colleagues and friends, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I'll never forget before I got involved in the industry, I had the perception that it was a mostly male dominated industry and that might have been true to a certain extent, but more and more, we are seeing strong women leaders emerge in this industry, providing innovative ideas and a clear direction of where our association and industry is headed. Click Here to read the article and see what all of these fabulous women are doing for our industry. And a big thanks to the NWPCA team for this honor and the great opportunity to be involved in this association.

Where In the World Has Team VP Been?

Fall is one of our very favorite times of year for so many reasons. Pumpkin spice is in the air, the weather is starting to change, and the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association's annual Fall Plant Tour's are upon us. It is the final industry event of the year where the membership comes together to tour member facilities and even facilities of companies that are in different business sectors but whose operations rely heavily on pallets and wood packaging. This is such an important and valuable event in that we are able to share ideas and look at different ways that we can improve many common challenges that we face each day within our respective businesses.

This year, we had the opportunity to visit the great state Texas where we spent two days in Houston. We visited three very impressive operations, where the industries and sectors of business served rely heavily on new pallets. It was quite an experience to see three operations, two of which were pallet manufacturers and the other a logistics service provider. We were able to see two extensive lumber milling facilities and great production automation. We would like to sincerely thank our plant hosts for their generous hospitality. Team Valley Pallet had the opportunity to host last year's (2016) Fall Tours, where we hosted 250 of our closes friends for lettuce and celery field harvest tours, a processing plant tour and finally, a tour of our Salinas, CA facility. It was a great honor to host, an honor which we will forever be grateful. We know the hard work that goes in to the tour so we thank our hosts as well as the NWPCA staff.

As we wind this year of events down, we are already eager to get the 2018 event season kicked off! You can catch us at the Western Pallet Associations' Annual Meeting in January and the NWPCA's Annual Leadership Conference in March! Also, for a glimpse of the 2017 tours, CLICK HERE
